Tribute to Jean Amic

The ISPC is deeply saddened by the passing of Jean Amic, an extremely talented and creative perfumer director whose influence shaped the perfume industry into what it is today.
Jean Amic was known and appreciated for his charismatic personality and his commitment to the perfume industry.
While CEO of Givaudan, he was able to detect young talents and grow their careers into international successes. He was a visionary with a deep understanding of the market, thanks to his intuition and sense of human psychology. 
He was at the origin of great successes such as Rive Gauche and Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, Poison by Christian Dior, Obsession by Calvin Klein and Loulou by Cacharel. Proud of those creations, he would say: “A good perfume is a perfume that sells.”
On behalf of the Perfumers of the industry, we join to pay tribute to Jean Amic.
